Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 08 / 2025 Duration : 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med-Surg RN with a NM or compact license and at least one prior travel assignment for a hospital day shift position. Responsibilities Work in a hospital medical-surgical unit providing care to a diverse patient population Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 0700-1930, 3 days per week Weekend shifts may be required as needed On-call and call-back duties may be required as needed Floating between departments or local locations within a 20-mile radius is required Uses Epic EMR with on-site training available Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing interventions Coordinate patient care with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Administer medications and treatments as ordered, and document according to hospital policy Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed Identify and support patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the care episode Must complete and pass required orientation and basic cardiac arrhythmia testing; one retest opportunity is provided if needed Requirements Active NM or compact RN license required Current BLS certification from AHA, American Health and Safety, or Red Cross required Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required Minimum of two years of recent med-surg experience required Completion of at least one 13-week prior travel assignment required Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment Must pass facility-specific testing and competency modules during orientation Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted Returning employees must wait one year before being reconsidered for a traveler role Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-633333.
