About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in NICU; 1 year of RN experience may be accepted if there is other nursing experience.

License : Required

Certifications : BLS, NRP, STABLE

Must-Have : NICU experience, ability to titrate drips.

Description :

The role involves working in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The unit has 61 beds with 24 rooms, accommodating up to 3 patients per room.

Nurse-patient ratios are 1 : 1 to 1 : 3.

Required certifications include BLS, NRP, and STABLE.

Common patient diagnoses include prematurity, respiratory distress, and surgical patients.

Experience with titrating drips such as Morphine, Dopamine, and Epinephrine is necessary.

There is a Charge Nurse on each shift who does not take patient assignments.

Patient care techs are available to assist, typically 1 to 2 per shift.

Neonatologists and Nurse Practitioners are on site 24 / 7.

Shifts are scheduled to avoid self-scheduling, with a maximum of 5 shifts in a row.

Weekends and holidays may be required based on unit needs.

Floating to other departments such as Pediatrics, PICU, or the nursery is possible, with orientation provided as needed.

There are no tele / monitor techs on the unit.

Scrub color is hospital blue or personal scrubs.

The charting system used is Epic Systems Corporation - EpicCare Inpatient - EMR.
