After-School Counselor

The Center for Family Life at the Marlene Meyerson Jewish Community Center Manhattan is seeking responsible, caring individuals to work as a Counselors or after school class assistants in our After-School Clubhouse program Mondays - Thursdays, from 2 : 30-5 : 30 pm.

The Clubhouse provides a safe and welcoming environment for children ages 4-10 after their school day. There are four different groups of children each day, divided by age and grade. Our vision is to raise thoughtful community members while recognizing the individual needs of our participants.

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Pick up children from local schools on the Upper West Side and escort them to the JCC
• Work with a team to provide a safe and fun environment and create a positive classroom culture for children in the Clubhouse program
• Assist with age-appropriate activities for children ages 4-10
• Assist with after school specialty classes as needed
• Follow each child's daily schedule of activities and ensure prompt arrival and pickup from classes
• Close collaboration with lead counselors and supervisors
• Attend program orientation and staff development meetings every other month

Pay Range : $20-$24 per hour

Position : non-exempt

September 2025 to early June 2026

Hours : Mondays-Thursdays, 2 : 30-5 : 30 PM
