Must hold current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Description
Collaborate with the facility leadership and the medical director to develop, implement, and evaluate the annual infection prevention goals and action plan
Identify occurrences, reservoirs, incubation periods, periods of communicability, modes of transmission, signs and symptoms, and susceptibility associated with the infectious disease process
Ensure facility has a facility-wide system for the prevention, identification, investigation, and control of infections of residents, staff, and visitors, including surveillance designed to identify possible communicable diseases or infections before they spread.
Assist the facility to conduct outbreak investigations and provide guidance to stop the spread
of infection within the facility.
Support the facilities in reporting possible incidents of communicable diseases to local, state, or national agencies as required.
Foster effective working relationships and build consensus
All other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
A passion for caring for and improving the lives of our residents
Current Registered Nurse (RN) License
At least two (2) years of experience in a long term care environment.
Must have or complete Infection Prevention CDC Certification.
Good Working knowledge of State Rules / Regulations
Positive Can-Do Attitude and Excellent Attendance
