Distribution Supervisor AFA - 1st Shift
The Distribution Supervisor manages the daily operation of AFA receiving / shipping and stock control for all products, the direct supervision of employees and coordination of operations and activities.
Major Duties & Responsibilities :
- Prioritizes the daily workflow to meet and exceed customer commitments.
- Coaches, trains, and leads employees to meet prescribed productivity and service goals.
- Supervises physical facilities, human resources, equipment, and products in a profitable manner.
- Administers and ensures compliance with Company policies, OSHA standards, and applicable employment laws.
- Establishes procedures for verification of distribution services including receiving, order picking, storing, shipping, handling returns, damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Plans short-term labor needs based on forecasts and input from management. Operates in compliance with federal, state, and local statues.
- Ensures consistent daily / weekly expense control.
- Develops effective planning and project management for process improvements, and supports implementation of new processes and installation of new equipment. Ensures the involvement of the DC leadership team and employees in the design and implementation of new technology.
- Monitors a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
- Establishes processes that enhance productivity through continued efficiency gains.
- Measures and maintains logistics performance metrics.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed to support the business.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor degree - Logistics or Supply Chain Management3+ years' experience in logistics3+ year's supervisory experienceKnowledge and experience in Microsoft office, SAP, WMSAbility to lead and motivate a teamThorough understanding of the warehousing and distribution environment demonstrated by knowledge / experience in shipping, order pulling, receiving, inventory control, and replenishmentAbility to interact in an effective manner with all levels of the organizationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independentlyAble to be licensed to operate heavy equipmentMust be flexible and able to adjust with shifting prioritiesAbility to work flexible hoursWork experience in the sport industry or familiar with apparel, footwear, backpack and equipmentPreferred Qualifications :
