The therapist must be able to float to the emergency room and adult ICU stepdown units. Charges experience is required with a minimum of 4 years in this role. The position includes mandatory on-call shifts, totaling 3 shifts every 6 weeks. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CRTT) certifications are required. An ACLS certification must be obtained within a 90-day window from the start date, with travelers allowed to start pending this certification. Experience in neonatal intensive care, emergency department, and adult ICU is preferred but not mandatory. The night shift position requires the ability to provide various aerosol therapies, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies. Responsibilities include arterial blood gas draw and analysis and management of CPAP / BiPAP. Attendance at monthly department meetings is expected when working; if not working, the candidate must read the meeting minutes and acknowledge understanding to management. Candidates need experience in patient-driven protocol and mechanical ventilation protocols. The position also involves compliance with safety and quality initiatives within the department.
