Job description

Talent4Health is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Yuma, Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ICU-level care with nurse-patient ratios of 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 (or 1 : 3 if no vents / drips).
  • Manage a 42-bed unit caring for cardiac / open heart, balloon pump, Impella, tPA, TPE, small head bleeds, post-tPA cases, Level 3 trauma patients, and complex critical care cases.
  • Titrate drips including :

    • Vasopressors : Epi, Levophed, Phenylephrine, Vasopressin

  • Inotropes : Dopamine, Dobutamine, Primacor
  • Antiarrhythmics : Amiodarone, Cardizem, Esmolol, Lidocaine, Procainamide
  • Antihypertensives : Clevidipine, Labetalol, Cardene, Nipride, Nitro
  • Sedatives : Ketamine, Precedex, Propofol, Versed
  • Paralytics : Vecuronium, Nimbex, Rocuronium
  • Analgesics : Fentanyl, Morphine
  • Anticoagulants : Aggrastat, tPA, Argatroban, Heparin, Integrilin
  • Other : Insulin
  • Collaborate with intensivists (24 / 7 coverage), RT (24 / 7), PCA support staff, and unit support personnel.
  • Assist with procedures including EKG, blood sugar checks, I / O, lab draws, procedure setup, and bedside trachs with MD / RT.
  • Utilize RT-managed equipment : vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen.
  • Participate in unit scheduling : self-schedule, 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period, 2 major holidays required.
  • Float to other units as needed (max 4 patients).
  • Attend required orientation : one day NEO, one day educator skills / competencies, one day on-unit.

    • Requirements

    Experience :

  • Recent Trauma Level I or II hospital experience required
  • Strong ICU experience with vents, sedation, sepsis, pressors, DKA, cardiac, CHF, and respiratory cases
  • Epic EMR proficiency (recent)
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of critical drips

    • Certifications & Licenses :

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS

    • Education :

  • ADN or BSN accepted per facility policy
