Job Summary
This position is for a Project Manager who communicates directly with client / internal customer. Leads Hydro Engineering project team in the execution of the projects. Provides oversight of lead discipline engineers, project administrators, project controls / scheduler representatives, procurement representative and other team members assigned to the project.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams both external and internal during the early project development phase to better define project scope through conceptual engineering to final designs.
- Develop project initiation documents such as the Project Charter and Project Management Plan. Oversee the preparation, approval, and updates of Quality Management System documentation, securing Steering Committee approval where required.
- Direct a multidisciplinary project team, through all phases - from initiation to closeout - ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines. Maintain and update project schedule as required.
- Monitor and manage project finances, including budgeting, monthly forecasting, cost control, and procurement activities such as purchase order creation to maintain each project's financial integrity.
- Take projects through the complete bid process with multiple external vendors. Develop and execute contracts with multiple vendors while fostering strong, collaborative relationships.
- Ensure all project activities adhere to applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Work with permitting teams to develop detailed permitting plans throughout the life of a project.
- Promote and maintain a safety-first mindset throughout all project phases, prioritizing the well-being of team members and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience Required :
Bachelor's degree and a minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience required.Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.Demonstrated experience in leading large teams.Experience leading implementation of complex initiatives.Demonstrated understanding of utility operations and customer interaction.Direct experience in business case development and benefits capture.Demonstrated experience in the execution of strategic objectives.Proven track record of achieving results in high pressure and high-profile assignments.Skills / Abilities :
