Position Overview :

The primary focus of a Instructor / Teacher Assistant STEAM Children's Enrichment will be to maintain the Discovery Center activities. Instructor / Teacher Assistant STEAM Children's Enrichment are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills of students by supporting the Instructor in the classroom. Programs are conducted for children ages 2-14, although not all assistant instructors are required to work with all age groups. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology Instructors & leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism. We are a mobile business that operates in schools, libraries, homes, etc. throughout Nassau County Long Island.

Role & Responsibilities :

Greet parents and children

Monitor children in the use of learning materials and equipment

Aid in Management of student behavior

Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology

Organize Snapology program materials

Complete special assignments as indicated by Snapology leadership

Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs

Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs

Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required

Qualifications :

Criminal and Child Clearances must be current

Desire to work with children

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Programs :

Weekday after-school and / or evening classes

Weekend workshops and / or birthday parties

Summer camps

Special events, holiday and break workshops

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Instructor / Teacher Assistant STEAM Children's Enrichment typically work between 4-10 hours per week.
