LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Neonatal NP in Virginia!

About The Position

We are seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia. This opportunity begins on Jan 5, 2026, and features 24-hour in-house shifts supporting a NICU. The ideal candidate is clinically active and experienced within neonatology, ready to contribute to a high-acuity care environment.

Schedule : 24-hour, in-house shifts

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide advanced clinical care within a NICU

Manage NICU and newborn average daily census of 20, with approximately 1,700 annual deliveries

Oversee newborn admissions, with a 95 percent admit rate

Administer advanced therapies including high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), high-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV), inhaled nitric oxide, and therapeutic hypothermia

Support pediatric surgical procedures (excluding cardiac surgery except PDA ligations; no ECMO)

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain thorough documentation and adherence to all clinical protocols

Additional Information

Current APRN national specialty certification required

Active Virginia license required

Minimum of a master's degree required

At least six months of recent clinical experience in neonatology required

Must have been clinically active within the past year

Completion of prescreen questionnaire and CV in MM / YYYY format (with all gaps explained) required

Required board certification : Neonatology
