Travel Surgical Tech Job Details

Location : Charleston, SC 29425 (South Carolina healthcare jobs)

Facility : Level I Trauma Center, Main Operating Room

Position Type : Travel Surgical Technologist Contract

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025 – End : 3 / 16 / 2026)

Shifts : 3x12-hour day shifts / week (8 : 30am – 9 : 00pm), includes holiday rotation

Weekly Hours : 36

On-call : Up to 4 weekend call shifts every 4 weeks

Float : May float to similar units or sister facilities

Charting System : EPIC

Scrub Attire : Provided by hospital

Parking : On-site garage (minimal registration fee)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,120 - $1,200 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist (2+ years preferred)

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required

BLS certification required

Experience in a Level I Trauma Center preferred

Strong scrub experience highly desirable

Radiation badge (provided by agency)

Eligible for South Carolina Surgical Tech license if not already held

Flu vaccination required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Surgical Tech Responsibilities

Assist surgeons in a variety of procedures : Trauma, Transplant, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotic surgeries

Prepare and maintain sterile operating rooms and surgical equipment

Collaborate with Registered Nurses and multidisciplinary surgical teams

Participate in on-call rotations and float to other surgical units as needed

Document procedures and patient information accurately using EPIC

Comply with hospital safety protocols and emergency procedures, including hurricane response
