Be the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor You've Always Aspired to Be

Your impactful journey involves :

Administers medical gas, breathing therapy modality, and medication per physician written order.

Recommends and implements appropriate alterations to therapy based on observations.

Performs arterial blood gas sampling and transport.

Interprets results and alerts appropriate personnel of abnormalities.

Demonstrates proper chest physiotherapy and postural drainage techniques.

Ensures staff function per guidelines of National Board of Respiratory Care, other practice acts.

Provides appropriate direction and supervision for Respiratory Care Practitioners.

Interviews and selects Respiratory personnel for employment.

Verifies hours worked by employees and completes required payroll reports.

Demonstrates awareness of budget parameters and meets hospital guidelines with cost.

Supervises new staff orientation to hospital / dept. process, policy, procedure, and documentation.

Utilizes continuing education to keep abreast of current advancements related to pulmonary care.

Qualifications

Current State License in Respiratory Therapy

CPR certification

ACLS certification preferred

Associates degree or higher from an accredited respiratory therapy program

2 years hospital experience in Respiratory Therapy preferred

Supervisory or management experience preferred
