The RN will provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients diagnosed with cancer, including administering chemotherapy, managing symptoms, monitoring treatment progress, and offering emotional support to patients and their families. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in pediatric nursing and oncology, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to delivering family-centered care. Key Responsibilities : Clinical Care Provide direct patient care to pediatric oncology patients, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment monitoring. Administer chemotherapy and other cancer-related therapies per established protocols and safety guidelines. Monitor for and manage side effects, infections, and other complications related to cancer and treatment. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, child life specialists, social workers, etc.) to ensure comprehensive patient care. Patient and Family Support Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and symptom management. Offer emotional support and resources to help families cope with the challenges of pediatric cancer. Advocate for patient needs while maintaining cultural sensitivity and empathy. Documentation and Compliance Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR). Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.
