Facility is a Level IV Trauma Center. Facility has a Level III NICU and Level III Perinatal Center. There are 18 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery rooms, 3 Triage rooms, 3 Operating Rooms for C-sections, and 3 OB-ED rooms. Average deliveries per day vary, with approximately 10. Limited scheduled procedures, with a maximum of 7 per day. No C-sections are scheduled on Sundays. Patient types include those 18 weeks gestational age and older. Intrapartum, antepartum, and high-risk patients are part of the care provided. Care includes management of preeclampsia, hyperemesis, and diabetes. Both scheduled and unscheduled C-sections are performed. D&C procedures are conducted when necessary for post-delivery bleeding control. Travelers will not work in the OB triage area. Patient ratios include 1 : 1 for active labor, C-sections, and recovery; 1 : 2 for laboring patients; 1 : 2-3 for stable antepartum patients; and 2 : 1 care at delivery. One RN is assigned for mothers and one for babies until the baby is stable. OB Technicians provide support with 2 on days and 1 on nights. Education and support resources include CNAs, Charge Nurses, and other specialists available 24 / 7. Technological equipment includes EMR, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and fetal monitors. Travelers will float as needed, primarily to maternity, NICU, and medical-surgical units to provide assistance without patient assignment when floating outside the Labor and Delivery unit. Scrub colors will be provided.
