JOB SUMMARY :
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for executing projects that deliver expected business results. The projects are designed to enhance safety, quality, growth, and efficiency and therefore, are an important piece of the success of the company. The project manager leads and collaborates on the scoping, design, procurement, construction, and accounting functions related to project execution. The Engineering Project Manager works cross-functionally with Corporate leadership, site production, maintenance, finance, and quality teams to take projects from concept to completion. Success in this position requires projects to be executed safely, perform as expected, be on time, and within budget constraints.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- Four (4) year B.S. degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) required
- 5+ years of experience in Industry, preferably in a process-heavy, food manufacturing facility
- Experience managing large projects of at least $5-25MM in overall spend
- Experience with MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Experience with MS Project (or alternate scheduling software) and CAD
- Understanding of fundamental project engineering / management processes (e.g. FEL, FEED)
- Clear understanding of engineering economics and project justification

Leads all project activities for site capital improvements - scope, design, procurement, execution, and startupCoordinates with other functions to list, assign, execute, and track all actions necessary for project implementationEnsures employee safety and environmental compliance are included in the planning and execution phases of capital projects. This includes oversight of any 3rd party activities for project or maintenance support.Ensure projects and plant processes adhere to expected safety and quality standards and close gaps where necessaryEnsure compliance with the Company’s Capital policy for project approval, execution, and accounting. Assists the Accounting team with proper asset tracking and depreciation calculationsResponsible for completing projects on time and within budget constraintsDevelop, maintain, and monitor budgets and schedules to ensure each project stays on trackCoordinate with Procurement to issue RFQs, facilitate negotiation, and issue purchase orders to vendors and contractorsManage contractors working on plant projects – ensures contractors follow company guidelines and meet quality and timeliness expectationsProject Accounting / Reporting – track and monitor all costs associate with assigned projects to ensure project stays within budgetDesign and implement projects to improve productivity, yield, labor efficiency, and operating costsSupports operational goals in the areas of safety, compliance, quality, production, cost, and capital projectsPerform other related duties as necessary.WORKING CONDITIONS :
This position should expect to spend a significant amount of time on the floor, with plant employees, contractors, and processes.Travel : although the position is largely based at the Indianapolis, IN facility; the employee should expect occasional travel to assist with opportunities at other sites, visit equipment vendors, etc.COMPANY OVERVIEW :
