Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Blood Collection Specialist, where you will play a vital role in performing phlebotomy and collection procedures in accordance with our organization's policies, FDA regulations, and AABB standards. Your efforts will directly contribute to the collection of whole blood and blood components from donors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical history assessments and record vital signs from donors and / or patients.
• Execute phlebotomy and collection procedures effectively to collect blood or blood components.
• Provide outstanding customer service and uphold professionalism with all customers.
• Assist in the recruitment of potential apheresis and bone marrow donors.

Qualifications

We are looking for a motivated individual who can thrive in this role. The following qualifications are necessary :

Education and Experience :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Designations :

None required.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills :

Physical Requirements :

This role involves periods of moderately physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and pushing moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). Proper techniques and moving equipment should be employed for tasks requiring significant weight. You may encounter climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, and manual dexterity while operating phlebotomy equipment.

Environmental Requirements :

The work environment may include exposure to inclement weather, atmospheric elements, and pathogenic substances. This position may involve contact with blood-borne pathogens and working in close spaces, such as mobile unit buses. Candidates should be aware that moderate vibration and motion are common in this environment, along with a generally moderate noise level.
