About the Role
Our client, a mission-driven non-profit organization, is seeking a seasoned Workday Financials Project Manager to lead the implementation of Workday Financials across the organization. The ideal candidate brings deep Workday Financials experience, strong project leadership skills, and a background working within non-profit environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end Workday Financials implementation, managing scope, timeline, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder communication.
- Build, manage, and execute a comprehensive project plan, ensuring alignment across Finance, HR, IT, and leadership teams.
- Drive organizational change management, including communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, and end-user readiness.
- Develop and deliver training plansincluding user guides, training sessions, and workshopsto ensure strong adoption of Workday Financials.
- Facilitate requirements gathering, process mapping, and decision-making sessions for core Workday Financials modules (e.g., Accounting, Procurement, Grants, Expenses, Projects).
- Coordinate with external Workday implementation partners, ensuring quality of deliverables and adherence to timelines.
- Identify and proactively address project risks, resource gaps, and process challenges.
- Provide status updates and executive briefings, with clear documentation of progress, issues, and milestones.
- Support change, stabilization, and optimization activities following go-live.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of Project Management experience, with at least 23 Workday Financials implementations successfully managed from start to finish.Non-profit industry experience, preferably supporting organizations with grant-based or fund accounting structures.Strong knowledge of Workday Financials modules, including configuration considerations, testing cycles, integrations, and deployment best practices.Demonstrated expertise in change management and training delivery, with the ability to guide end users through major process changes.Outstanding communication skills, professionalism, and ability to manage expectations across diverse stakeholder groups.Ability to work onsite 23 days per week in a hybrid capacity.PMP, Prosci, or Workday certifications are highly desirable.Ideal Candidate Attributes
