Vivalon is looking for Special Needs Attendants for our San Francisco Routes!

The Special Needs Attendant performs a variety of tasks to support the driver in providing safe and proper transportation for our elderly clients and adult clients with disabilities. We provide a 5 day, fully-paid training in San Rafael, CA (commute stipend provided) and an excellent team-oriented work environment.

Starting pay is $21.00 per hour. We offer a comprehensive benefits package beginning the first of the month following one full month of employment that includes medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, life, retirement, paid time off, holidays, and more.

This full-time position is Monday through Friday with a guarantee of 30 hours per week working 6-hour days (morning and afternoon split shifts).

Successful candidates will be able to :

  • Supervise and assist clients in transit.
  • Assist the driver in the proper loading and unloading of passengers.
  • Know the appropriate use of securing devices for safety restraints, wheelchairs, and seat belts.
  • Demonstrate understanding and empathy for persons with disabilities.
  • Enjoy working with people of all ages and be sensitive to their needs.
  • Display professional behavior when working with clients, co-workers, and community members.
  • Follow all health and safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Report any client concerns to the driver and the appropriate management staff.

Requirements : Qualifications :

  • Friendly & reliable plus excellent customer service skills and a desire to help others
  • Valid California Driver's License or California ID Card
  • Provide 2 professional references
  • Pass a pre-employment background check, Live Scan fingerprinting, drug / alcohol screen, non-DOT physical and submit to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with federal law throughout employment
  • Candidates considered for this role must be 21+
