Role Overview
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineering Manager to drive excellence across our product lifecycle. To lead our engineering team, championing continuous improvement, and ensuring our products consistently meet the highest quality standards from design to customer use. This is a critical leadership role that directly impacts customer satisfaction and sales.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & System Optimization
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team encompassing quality inspection, manufacturing engineering, and software.
- Proactively assess and align team competencies with current and future business needs.
- Optimize and manage all engineering systems, including ECN (Engineering Change Notification) and Asana, to enhance efficiency and collaboration.
Customer Quality & Product Enhancement
Establish a unified, reliable source of truth (defect Pareto) for all market quality complaints, collaborating closely with Service, Customer Experience (Cx), and Sales teams.Oversee the resolution of customer product complaints across our product lines (UTS, TMI / Buchel, Technodyne, and TME).Drive the identification, creation, and implementation of critical quality enhancements using FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) methodologies.Ensure all Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) meet strict Turnaround Time (TAT) expectations. www.industrialphysics.comAct as the Intellectual Property (IP) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for FMEA.Supplier Quality Management
Develop and implement standardized Supplier Quality Management processes for accurate and efficient identification and documentation of non-conforming materials and components.Design and implement adaptive incoming inspection procedures to ensure component quality from the start.Operational Excellence : Training, Assembly & Product Release
Define and implement Critical Control Points (CCPs) for every product assembly process to ensure consistent quality.Serve as the primary technical authority for all manufactured products.Collaborate with our Telford facility to implement best practices for : o Operator training programs and skill matrix development. o Robust product release protocols, including metrology standards.Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Lead internal quality and ISO audits, driving continuous improvement within our Quality Management System (QMS).Ensure the organization maintains essential certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025) and complies with all relevant regulatory standards (e.g., CE, ASTM, ANSI).New Product Introduction (NPI) & Growth
Lead and manage New Product Introduction projects through the gate process, ensuring comprehensive review, diligent management, and thorough consideration of all aspects before progression.Success Metrics & KPIs
