About The Position

🩺 Position Description

A leading Level 1 Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center in Ohio is seeking a Locum Advanced Practice Provider (PA or CNP) to provide high-acuity nighttime Neuro Critical Care coverage starting late October / early November through February / March 2026 .

This is a hospital-based position within a busy Neuro ICU setting. You will be managing stroke patients , providing neurosurgical consult coverage , and handling procedures independently overnight. A team of neurointensivists will be available by phone , and you'll work alongside 3 Advanced Practice Providers during the assignment.

🕒 Shift(s) Description :

12-hour night shifts (6 PM – 6 AM)

Schedule : 7 on / 7 off OR alternating 4 shifts one week and 3 the next

Inpatient only – No call required

Job Requirements

✅ Requirements

Board-Certified PA or CNP – Required

Active Ohio License – Required, no exceptions

Clean Background – Required for credentialing

BLS & ACLS Certifications – Required

ENLS – Highly Preferred

Comfortable working in a Neuro ICU setting

Experience with stroke patients and neurosurgical consults – Required

Able to work independently in a high-acuity environment

Must be available for dates starting late October / early November

🧠 Clinical Details

Avg. Neuro ICU Census : ~10 patients

Neurosurgical Consults : Avg. 5 / night

Trauma Involvement : ~40%

Documentation : EPIC EMR

Facility Designation : Level 1 Trauma, Comprehensive Stroke Center

No other neurologists present during shifts (neurointensivists available by phone)

Onsite labs and imaging available
