Accredited Financial Counselor / Instructor - Personal Financial Management Course

TBS is recruiting an Accredited Financial Counselor Instructor to deliver the Army's Personal Financial Management Course to Initial Entry Training Soldiers. This role provides instructor-led training that strengthens financial readiness and supports newly enlisted Soldiers in making informed financial decisions. Must be physically located at Fort Lee, VA, or other Army TRADOC (T2COM) bases.

Responsibilities include delivering standardized PFMC instruction, administering pre and post-tests, issuing certificates of completion, and using Army-approved financial readiness tools. The instructor prepares classrooms, prints and distributes government-provided student handouts, safeguards equipment, conducts required inventories, and reports discrepancies to the Contracting Officer's Representative. The instructor monitors attendance, manages classroom conduct, refers discipline issues to unit leadership, and provides timely inputs for monthly reporting. The role participates in curriculum surveillance, integrates approved curriculum updates, and coordinates monthly class schedules across assigned locations. Instruction must be delivered in accordance with government-provided curriculum and may be executed in person or virtually. The instructor must be prepared to use hard copy slides when projection systems are unavailable.

Minimum qualifications include possession of one of the following certifications : Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), or Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in personal financial management and in classroom teaching techniques. Experience instructing adult learners or Soldiers is preferred. The role requires strong communication skills, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a structured training environment. U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass required background checks are mandatory.

This position supports weekday and Saturday class schedules, with classes delivered in a 4.5-hour block. Travel to assigned training locations may be required.
