Help a veteran and make a difference as a Psychiatrist in the 'Heart of Louisiana'

Psychiatrist Key Responsibilities :

• Typical shift M-F, 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm, Night / Weekend / Holiday on-call by rotation
• Protected administrative time
• Evaluate and manage patients admitted to mental health inpatient service, and outpatient clinics including performing history and physical examinations.
• Provide coverage to evaluate and manage mental health veterans in the Emergency Department, and consultation liaison service as needed.
• Write prescriptions for medications, including controlled medications, ordering appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Provide education, counseling, and documentation to patients and patients' families in preventive care, medical treatments, and the use of prescribed medications.
