Pay Information $2,122 per week About The Position Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Duration : 8 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years in specialty License : Compact or state license required Certifications : - BLS - ACLS - CPI (if applicable) - NIHSS (if applicable) Must-Have : - Telemetry experience - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias - Experience with central line, peripheral line, and PICC line management - Experience with blood product administration Description : You will be working in a unit that accommodates nurses with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The patient population includes individuals with diagnoses such as chest pain, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, myocardial infarction, renal failure, pulmonary embolism, congestive heart failure, gastrointestinal bleed, and syncope. There is always potential for medical-surgical overflow cases. Specific procedures include pre / post cath lab care, pacemaker / implantable cardioverter-defibrillator management, ablations, and various vascular surgeries. You may be required to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips. Sheath removal at the bedside may also be part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to participate in emergency response efforts as necessary, especially during hurricane season, where additional responsibilities may arise. There is no guarantee for specific scheduling requests. The unit is staffed to maintain a patient ratio of 6 patients per nurse. Additional interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary assistance.
