Job Description Summary

As a valuable member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional payment solutions for our enterprise merchant offering through strategic partnerships.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Inputs to product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders consistent with the shared vision for the product.

Implements the architectural roadmap that balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability.

Controls for the customer experience and customer needs in product requirements and as an input to decision making.

Monitors metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis.

Manages one or more workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.

Monitors product profitability measures, including budget.

Participates in operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews. Interfaces with product leadership as needed.

Partners with content developers, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers.

Expected Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Client Aptitude : You will have the opportunity to directly engage with global enterprise clients on an ongoing basis. Your expertise will support sales teams and provide valuable advice to successfully close deals with large enterprise merchants.

Connector : Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as Product and Engineering, Finance, Support, Global Sales, Professional Services, and Account Management, you will leverage internal resources and external partnerships to drive business outcomes.

Global Reach : This is a global role that involves interacting with various teams and offices within PayPal, as well as engaging with our clients and partners worldwide. You will have the opportunity to foster strong relationships and contribute to the success of our organization on a global scale.

Distilling Complexity : As a key contributor, you will play a pivotal role in training and educating the organization on areas such as payments and the broader commerce ecosystem. Your ability to distill complex concepts into clear and actionable insights will be instrumental in empowering teams across the organization.

Evangelizing : In this role, you will serve as a thought leader for enterprise merchants. This includes engaging in merchant communication, participating in conferences, collaborating with partners, and hosting webinars. Your expertise and insights will contribute to industry-wide knowledge and best practices.

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

Data Science Driven Analysis : Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive strategic initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide actionable insights.

Drive Global Payment Processing Deals : Take ownership of ensuring successful sales and account expansion for payment processing deals on a global scale. Your expertise and strategic approach will contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

Payments Expertise for Strategic Initiatives : Serve as a payments expert for new strategic initiatives, including areas such as Local Payment Method expansion, Omnichannel experiences, and innovative e-commerce solutions. Your insights and guidance will shape the direction and success of these initiatives.

Influence Product Roadmap : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence the product roadmap of our Payments Platform. Your expertise will be vital in aligning the platform with the evolving needs of merchants, encompassing processing, payout, and multi-lateral requirements.

Consult and Articulate Value : Work closely with commercialization teams to consult on and influence the sales positioning of products. Your ability to articulate clear value propositions for merchants will be instrumental in driving adoption and success.

Navigate Compliance and Rules : Navigate complex compliance and rule frameworks related to enterprise merchants and marketplaces. By ensuring adherence to regulations, you will help PayPal maintain robust compliance practices as our global business scales.

Establish Thought Leadership : Position PayPal as a thought leader in enabling global payments for large enterprises and marketplaces. Through active engagement, industry insights, and thought leadership initiatives, you will strengthen our reputation in the market.

Strengthen Organizational Systems : Contribute to the improvement and "hardening" of systems employed by the broader organization. This involves areas such as regulations, compliance, legal frameworks, scheme rules, sales motions, and upselling. Your expertise will help optimize these systems and ensure their effectiveness.

Skills, Experience and Education

Data Science Proficiency : Design and implement advanced data analysis models to support business needs.

Payments Industry Expertise : Minimum of 5 years of experience in the payments industry, particularly in large enterprise card and payment processing.

Business-to-Business Sales and Relationship Building : Demonstrated experience of 2-3 years in business-to-business sales, relationship building, and business development.

Partner Relationship Development : Proven track record in identifying, developing, and contracting partner relationships within an enterprise context.

Enterprise Merchant and Marketplace Expertise : Hands-on experience working with the processing and payout needs of enterprise merchants and marketplaces.

Regional Payments Experience : Strong payments experience within specific markets or regions such as EU, UK, EMEA, APAC, or LatAm is required.

Effective Communication Skills : Adaptable and eloquent communicator with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at various levels.

B2B and Product Software Proficiency : Experience with B2B and product software tools, including but not limited to Powerpoint, Salesforce, Jira, and Sharepoint.

The US national annual pay range for this role is $152,500 to $262,350
