Join our dynamic 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, where you'll provide care for patients post-operatively from :
Craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Participation in our Comprehensive Stroke Program for hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients.A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, as well as medical overflow cases.This unit is part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), providing exposure to advanced neurosurgical techniques and innovative patient care.

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.Recognize significant changes in patient conditions and alter care plans as needed.Implement strategies to enhance patient safety and readiness to learn.Coordinate discharge plans with an interdisciplinary approach.Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and take appropriate actions for improvement.Show effective communication and promote collaboration within the healthcare team.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development opportunities.Ensure age-appropriate care and interventions based on patients' needs.Requirements :
Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA.Completion of an accredited nursing program.Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions and manage time effectively.Physical Requirements :
Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform tasks throughout the workday.Physical demands include lifting, pushing, pulling, and performing patient transfers.Exposure to potentially hazardous materials and communicable diseases requiring protective equipment.This job description provides a general overview of the responsibilities and expectations of the position.
