Position Statement

Under the direction of the Director Rehabilitation Services, provide Physical Therapy services for developmental, medical, traumatic, wound, and structural disorders. Provide skilled assessment and intervention to properly diagnosis and restore skills and function to clients of all ages across multiple service settings.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform complete evaluation and assessment including appropriate standardized testing of patients with a variety of PT appropriate diagnoses and identify the need for orthotics, prosthetics, assistive devices, compensatory techniques, or referrals to outside specialists.
• Implement safe and appropriate treatment procedures based on current practice standards and provide education including home programs, caregiver training, and adaptive recommendations which are regularly assessed and modified based on response to PT interventions.
• Provide supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants and performs duties of clinical instructor for PT / PTA students as required.
• Communicate with referring providers and other care team members as needed.
• Complete continuing education that promotes current best practice standards and allows for professional growth / development.
• Provide education, training, and in-services to other medical providers and the community as requested.
• Complete medical records that are in compliance with insurance, regulatory, legal, and department requirements in a timely fashion. Submit patient charges that are consistent with documentation.
• Assist in program development, department quality activities, policy / procedure review, and other activities that foster the achievement of departmental and organizational goals.
