We are seeking a Senior level VDC (BIM) Specialist. The ideal candidate will translate design intent contract documents or 3D design models of Plumbing, Mechanical and HVAC systems into fabrication and installation detail Building Information Models (BIMs) utilizing BIM fabrication modelling software. This position is also responsible for leading a team at the project level that oversees team productivity, time management, group standards and quality.
Job Responsibilities / Accountabilities :
- Lead and support a group of skilled VDC Specialists at a project level to ensure project deadlines are met
- Support project team within the VDC Group at a project level
Construction document management
Communication with internal project teamEnsure the BIM team has current project related informationSubmittals
SpecificationsVendor specific modelsWork with engineers and managers to produce LOD400 BIM for mechanical and plumbing systemsWork with General Contractor and other subcontractors to achieve spatial coordination of all tradesAttend weekly coordination meetings, either onsite or virtually, to achieve spatial coordination of all trades
Generate RFIs to be submitted to the design team when requiredCreate detailed shop drawings for the purposes of fabrication and installation of associated tradesCreation and annotation of shop drawings
Creation and annotation of hanger drawingsCreation and annotation of sleeve drawings Creation and export of hanger and sleeve coordinates to be utilized by the robotic total station layout team for field layoutCommunicate with field personnel, when required, to ensure that fabrication and installation intent is clearly communicated on shop and spool drawingsMentor and train VDC team membersOn the job training on the use of modelling and collaboration software

5 or more years of experience with installation of mechanical or plumbing systemsProficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP and Autodesk NavisworksProficiency in other BIM software is a plusProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and ability to be trained in use of the Company-specific applications and softwarePhysical Demands
The physical demands are those associated with working in a typical office environment and miscellaneous filed travel.
