This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (eg. H1-B) for this position.

Job Overview :
FDM Group is seeking experienced Mainframe Production Support Engineers . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe technologies, hands-on experience in production support, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide day-to-day production support for mainframe applications and systems.
- Monitor batch jobs, resolve abends, and ensure timely completion of production cycles.
- Perform analysis and root cause identification for recurring issues, implementing permanent fixes where possible.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to support incident resolution and process improvements.
- Develop and maintain job control language ( JCL ) scripts, IBM utilities, and related mainframe workflows.
- Document processes, incident resolutions, and technical solutions to ensure knowledge transfer and operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience :
5–10 years of experience in Mainframe Production Support .Strong proficiency in JCL and IBM utilities (IEBGENER, SORT, IDCAMS, etc.).Good understanding of job scheduling, monitoring, and performance tuning.Experience troubleshooting mainframe application issues and coordinating with cross-functional teams.Knowledge of COBOL programming is highly desirable (ability to read / debug code).Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications :
Banking or financial services industry experience.Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem management).Experience with automation and process improvement in mainframe environments.
