Must-Have : Must float to Med-Surg 80% of the time if there are no laboring patients.

Description :

Great team and flexibility in scheduling.

Work collaboratively with self-scheduling options.

RNs will float to Med-Surg approximately 80% of the time to take full patient assignments if there are no laboring patients.

The facility is in a rural area with fewer births.

The department has a few beds for Labor and Delivery and Postpartum care.

Approximately 30 births occur each year.

RNs provide couplet care, managing both mother and baby during labor, delivery, and postpartum in the same room.

Common patient diagnoses include active labor, elective inductions, and low-risk pregnancies (37 weeks and above).

RNs administer medications and titrate drips according to protocol.

There is no charge nurse or support staff.

An OB / Neonatologist is available with a 15-minute response time.

Anesthesia is also available with a 15-minute response time.

Uniform policy allows any color or pattern of scrubs, with closed-toe shoes required.

Staffing and scheduling are collaborative, with a manager available during the day for support.

Weekend requirements involve working every other weekend, potentially every third weekend.

Holiday requirements include working every other holiday.

May be placed on call due to low census for additional shifts.

Charting utilizes paper-based systems.
