About The Position

Position : Histotechnologist

Location : Saranac Lake, New York, 12983

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Shifts : 08hr Days (Monday to Friday)

Total Weekly Gross : $ 2680 weekly on 40 hours ($67 / hr)

Weekly Stipend : $ 1436

Weekly Taxable : $ 1244 pays for 40 hours ($31.11 / hr)

Job Requirements

Must gave GROSSING experience

Must have full technical experience in all areas of histology and cytology preparation (this also includes embedding, cutting, IHC), as they will be helping with all of that as well.

Bachelors degree in Science, PREFERRED NOT REQUIRED

Would like someone who at least has grossed biopsies and has lots of experience with IHC, performance on the Leica BOND MAX

Current NYS license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist CLT, Medical Technologist MT or Histotechnologist HTL

BLS from AHA required

1 plus years grossing experience REQUIRED

Responsible for the accurate gross description, dissection and processing of all biopsies, routine and moderate complexity tissue specimens according to established protocols under the direct supervision of the Pathologist andor Pathology Supervisor. Participates in limited technical activities of the Pathology department when needed, such as accessioning, staining, cover slipping, routine maintenance and cytology specimen preparation
