About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens position at a Trauma hospital in Pennsylvania. This 36-day assignment requires coverage for night call and 24-hour shifts, starting from 12 / 23 / 2025. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling emergency cases, ECMO, and tamponade procedures. This role offers flexibility with off-site call options and the support of APPs for floor call. The position utilizes Cerner EMR and may have potential for extension.

Schedule : Night Call (5p-8a) and 24-hour Call (8a-8a)

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Provide night call coverage and 24-hour call shifts as scheduled
• Handle emergency cardiothoracic surgical cases
• Manage ECMO and tamponade procedures
• Collaborate with APPs who handle floor call
• Utilize Cerner EMR system for patient documentation
• Be available for key dates, including : December 23-26, 2025; January 28 to February 1, 2026; May 1 to May 5, 2026; June 9 to June 14, 2026
• Adapt to the hospital's protocols and procedures
• Maintain clear communication with the healthcare team
