Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for the use of radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes.

You will perform magnetic resonance imaging and acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. You will also prepare, administer and document activities related to medications in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful as an MRI Technologist, you will need :

• To ensure correct orders are obtained, patients are properly identified and prepared for exams, and clinical histories are corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• To utilize appropriate imaging protocols and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
• To prepare and / or administer, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access sites as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
• To evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verify archival storage and / or transfer of data, post-processing of data if applicable.
• To educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
• To apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patients, yourself, and others.
• To assist licensed practitioners with magnetic resonance interventional procedures.
• To perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
• To select appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
• To have knowledge of MRI safety and participate in MRI Safety implant investigation and approval processes.

Other Information

This position requires a minimum of 1 year of related work experience. A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred. xklufbp Certifications include American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), and Basic Life Support Certification.
