About The Position We are seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in Critical Care Medicine for a full-time locum tenens assignment in Maryland. This position starts Jan 26, 2026, and lasts 36 days, covering night shifts (6PM-6AM plus sign-out) in the CVS-ICU. The role focuses on post-operative cardiac and surgical patient care, with no OR responsibilities. Job Details Location : Maryland Start Date : Jan 26, 2026 LOA : 36 days Provider Type Needed : Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner Schedule : Nights, 6PM-6AM plus 1-hour sign-out / shift transition; 13-hour shifts; full-time, 3 shifts per week; minimum 18 shifts per 6-week period; cannot exceed 5 consecutive shifts; no call Responsibilities and Duties Provide comprehensive post-operative care for transplant, ECMO, LVAD, bypass, and surgical patients in an ICU Manage 4-6 patients per night (approximately 4 per provider) Perform invasive procedures including central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube removal, and pacer wire removal Collaborate with at least one other Advanced Practice Provider, with the goal of 3 APPs covering nights together Deliver care using the Epic EMR system Additional Information Active Maryland nurse practitioner license required Acute care training is mandatory for NPs Must hold Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Required board certifications : Critical Care Medicine, Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist - Adult Gerontology (ACCNS-AG), or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC) Previous post-operative and cardiac ICU experience preferred Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
