Summary : Provides routine direct and indirect patient care in a hospital, clinic or home health care setting. All work performed is under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Responsibilities include assisting physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations, aiding in psychiatric settings, observing and documenting patient information, providing assistance to patients and their families, providing care / treatments to patients, providing direct personal care to patients, providing indirect care, reinforcing routine teaching given to patients, and distributing patient education materials. Education requirements include none as long as all other position requirements are met. Licensure / certification requirements include being listed as a Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Professional experience requirements prefer six months of nursing assistant experience with home health experience strongly preferred. Knowledge / skills / and abilities requirements include fluency in verbal and written English language and ability to develop basic computer skills.
