Job description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for an exciting locum tenens opportunity near Haynesville, Virginia. If you're looking to work in a dynamic environment while providing crucial care to patients, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Position Overview :

  • Specialty : Gastroenterology (Board Certification Required).
  • Coverage : Weekend-only coverage (Friday 5 : 00 PM to Monday 7 : 00 AM).
  • Responsibilities :

Manage gastrointestinal (GI) emergencies.

  • Perform Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP) procedures as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate use of resources by focusing on emergent and urgent cases only. Routine scopes and colonoscopies are not performed during these shifts.
  • Daily Patient Volume : Anticipated at 1 patient per day, focused on emergency cases.

    • Schedule Details :

  • Shift Type : 24-hour on-call coverage during weekends.
  • Duration : Ongoing weekend needs through at least March 2025.
  • Start Date : January 2025 (with opportunities for earlier shifts upon approval).

    • Qualifications :

  • Must hold Board Certification in Gastroenterology.
  • Proficient in handling GI emergencies and performing ERCP procedures independently.
