Location : Kansas City KS 66112

Duration : 3 months (Opportunity for ext. or conversion but not guaranteed)

Shift : Shift : M-F 40 HRS

Job Summary :

The Pharmacy Technician assist the pharmacist in process prescriptions, inventory control and customer service. This is a customer facing role located within a clinic. Coverage for other technicians on PTO could also result in a need for additional hours.

The Pharmacy Technician :

  • Retrieves, counts, and measures drugs.
  • Assists Pharmacist in ordering and restocking of drugs.
  • Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer.
  • Refers physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist.
  • May operate a cash register.
  • Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards.
  • Follows standard policies / practices.

Description

  • The Pharmacy Technician obtains new prescriptions and prescription refill information.
  • The Pharmacy Technician performs daily pharmacy technician duties including various activities and moderately complex administrative / operational / customer support assignments. Performs computations.
  • Interacts with patients and affiliate primary care clinic.
  • The Pharmacy Technician retrieves, counts, and measures drugs.
  • Assists Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of drugs.
  • Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer.
  • Refers physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist.
  • May operate a cash register. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area / department policy and methods for completing assignments.
  • Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization / timing, and works under minimal direction.
  • Follows standard policies / practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation / deviation and / or independent discretion.
