Responsibilities
Business Office Assistant :
Support the Business Office Coordinator with daily business office operationsEstablish and maintain resident accounts, including billing and private pay collectionsProcess daily transactions such as petty cash, accounts receivable, and bankingAssist with physician and pharmacy billingAssess and monitor the status of Medicaid applicationsAnswer phones, prepare and maintain departmental correspondence, and reportsEnter new admissions weekly and maintain MCR / INS logsAttend morning reports and weekly rehab meetings with key facility staffUpdate admission records with any contact changesPrepare and distribute cut lettersManage RFMS, reconcile resident banking statements, and enter ancillary charges for month-endComplete insurance verification forms for Part BFiling, scanning, and processing recurring transaction reportsReplenish resident cash boxes and petty cash; count cash boxes weekly with Business Office CoordinatorOpen and sort business office mailMeet with residents / families for short-term admission paperworkSupport special projects and overflow as directed by the Business Office CoordinatorScan room and board checks and resident trust checksQualifications
Business Office Assistant :
Minimum of one year previous Accounts Receivable experience required.Working knowledge of Medicare A and B, Medicaid and third party insurance required.Experience in a Long Term Care setting highly preferredHigh school diploma with business training, including typing and book keeping. Proficient in Excel is a plus.This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and / or supervisors.
