Responsibilities include providing structured therapeutic activities, documenting patient progress in a timely and accurate manner, completing assessments within required time frames, and contributing to workload balance within the department. The Activity Therapist ensures programming is diverse, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with each patient's plan of care, while maintaining clear communication, offering direction and education to staff, and supporting the overall functioning of the therapeutic program. Regular reassessment is performed in accordance with policy, including when significant changes occur or when a patient's stay exceeds seven days. The therapist provides ongoing input during treatment planning, offers guidance on activity-related groups, and ensures patient goals and treatment updates are accurately communicated and recorded.
