Job Summary
Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Addiction Psychiatrist will practice with autonomy and independence within the scope of the medical license to provide direct diagnostic, preventive and treatment services to adolescents and adults with substance use disorders and serious mental illness at the MHSADS medical clinics.
This position provides patient services; issues physician orders for patient care and provides patient education related to diagnoses and medication; works with staff to ensure continuity of care; consults with team leaders as needed; ensures that professional licensure is maintained; meets electronic health record (EHR) requirements; and responds to emergency and crisis situations as needed.
This position will be part of an on-call schedule which responds to phone calls after hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis to ensure access 24 / 7 coverage for emergencies and / or consultation.
This position may supervise nurse practitioners, students, interns, and externs.
