Level 3 Data Center Tech (All-Shifts)

TEKsystems currently has a variety of Data Center Tech positions available for a large GPU Deployment project with our client in Mount Pleasant, WI. This consists of Level 2 Techs, Level 3 Techs, Level 4 Techs & Lead Techs. Looking for people who have some exposure in Data Centers or are interested in getting their foot into Data Center environments. Individuals who have knowledge and some exposure with cabling (fiber optic, copper, Cat5, Cat6, any), Servers, Switches, Routers, troubleshooting, etc. would be a great fit. Along with individuals that either currently hold or are pursuing certifications such as CompTIA Net+, Server+, Cisco certs, etc. In short, the shifts and top skills for each position is below. Please note, that the compensation on this job description is for Level 3 Tech positions, and other higher skilled positions will be compensated differently. • A Side Day Shift : Sunday - Tuesday, Every other Wednesday 6a-6p
• A Side Nights : Same as above except for 6p-6a
• B Side Day Shift : Thursday - Saturday, every other Wednesday 6a-6p

Job Brief : We are seeking a skilled Level 3 Data Center Technician to join our IT team. The Level 3 Data Center Technician's responsibilities include maintaining the data center's IT system, troubleshooting issues, performing server installations, and ensuring uninterrupted access to network services. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a strong understanding of network infrastructure and data center operations. Familiarity with server installations and network updates is also required. The candidate should also have GPU experience and 4 plus years in a hyperscale environment.

Responsibilities :

oMove servers and switches to required destinations for installation.

oInspect servers and switches to ensure they are not damaged.

oInstall servers and switches and cable them according to provided wire maps.

oEnsure all cables are bundled neatly and in accordance with standards.

oDouble-check with network admins to ensure everything is cabled correctly and all connections are up.

oInstall additional components needed (NIC, Drive, Memory).

oAssist in unboxing and prepping servers as needed.

oAudit servers and consumables.

oTroubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problem that the server is encountering.

oOrder replacement parts and install them in servers and ship back the defective part to their respective vendors.

oUpdate firmware on servers to ensure the latest version is installed.

oConfigure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.

oAssist network admins on any issues they are having with a server, including replacing broken or damaged cables, re-routing cables to different ports on the server or switch, replacing optics on both server and switch ports, changing out parts, and installing upgraded versions of those parts in servers.

oTemporarily rack and stack a server or switch in a cabinet and cable it so the network admin can remotely log in and run configurations on the device.

oAssist network admins who reach out requesting specific assistance with servers or switches.

oDeploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.

oPerform break-fix tasks, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components.

This is a Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI.

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $33.00 / hr.
