Job description
  • Responsibilities
  • Perform and manage EH&S functions for workers and a trucking operation at two facilities in Channahon, IL : a warehouse, packaging, and manufacturing facility, and a barge terminal facility.
  • Perform safety orientation training of new employees and conduct monthly safety meetings.
  • Provide and maintain an inventory of PPE and safety equipment.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections.
  • Facility Security Officer for both locations.
  • Maintain a Process Safety Management Program.
  • Maintain an Emergency Response Program including OSRO.
  • Incident investigations and reports.

    • Be responsible for handling and maintaining all regulatory matters with the following agencies :

    • Coast Guard
    • Homeland Security
    • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
    • Occupational Health & Safety Organization (OSHA)
    • IL Department of Natural Resources (IDNR)
    • Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
    • Department of Transportation (DOT)
    • Village of Channahon
    • Channahon Police Department
    • Channahon Fire Department
    • Requirements
    • A bachelors degree with a focus on occupational health and safety or related field.
    • Experience working with hazardous chemicals.
    • Experience working with the Coast Guard and EPA
    • Must be physically able to perform thorough inspections in physically demanding situations. i.e. confined spaces, walking in rough terrain, climbing ladders, working in all types of weather
    • Must be able to pass a drug test.
    • Maintain a valid drivers license.
    • Desired Experience / Skills
    • 40 Hour HAZWOPPER certification
    • Tier II reporting, FESOP, and AIR reporting
    • Working with OSHA, IDNR, FRA, DOT
    • Managing a PSM program
    • Knowledge of Coast Guard
    • Knowledge of EPA

      Pay : From $60,000.00 per year
