Summary :
The Registered Nurse in emergency services practices independently and is equipped to handle diverse clinical situations. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, effectively managing long-term goals, and adapting to the dynamic nature of the emergency environment. The RN makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to optimize patient care and organizational efficiency.
Responsibilities :
- Demonstrates relevant competencies as a leader in nursing care.
- Utilizes the nursing process for patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Addresses the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administers medications and treatments according to protocol while monitoring for side effects and therapeutic effectiveness.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided in a timely manner.
- Evaluates learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources for support.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills :
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.Experience :
Preferred : 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
BLS certification required.Active RN License in the state of employment or compact.Current ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.Position Requirements :
All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.New hires receive guidance from a designated preceptor, and must complete both organizational and department-specific competency validations.Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other orientation programs to ensure skill and competency mastery.Complete all annual competency verification requirements.Work Schedule : Varies
