About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Language Services to lead the functional area responsible for providing high-quality language services that ensure clear and inclusive communication across all client groups for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This pivotal role involves end-to-end planning and execution of language services, including interpretation, signage review, and multilingual communication support. The successful candidate will be tasked with defining the scope, service levels, and resourcing model for language services in collaboration with key stakeholders, and will be expected to recruit, train, and manage a diverse team to meet the needs of the Games. The Head of Language Services will also be responsible for implementing innovative solutions, managing the budget, and coordinating with other functional areas to integrate language support into cross-functional service delivery. Applicants for the Head of Language Services position should have a minimum of 8 years' experience in language services management, with a preference for those who have worked in large-scale international events, sports, or major organizations. The role requires demonstrated expertise in interpretation and multilingual communications at scale, as well as strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be familiar with simultaneous interpretation equipment, translation memory tools, and emerging language technologies, and have a proven track record of managing diverse teams and budgets. A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as linguistics, translation / interpretation, or event management is required, and professional certifications in translation / interpretation or project management are a plus. The Head of Language Services must also demonstrate a commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainability, and be able to work effectively in a multicultural, multilingual, and cross-functional environment.
