CNA Rehabilitation Aide
Rehabilitation Aide (CNA) Shift : Full-Time
Rate : $23 / hr.
Responsibilities :
- Is aware of and performs duties and resident care according to facility policy and procedure
- Performs nursing rehab activities according to the comprehensive care plans for assigned residents / patients.
- Understands, demonstrates and performs range of motion exercises, repositioning, ambulation, transfers and rehabilitative nursing measures in a safe manner.
- Is responsible for the safe operations or application of equipment and devices such as : scales, resident lifts, side rails, physical restraints, splints, arm protectors, positioning devices, specialized mattresses and other adaptive equipment.
- Provides range of motion exercises as per the recommendations of the physical / occupational therapists.
- Explains to the resident / patient the nursing rehab activities that will be performed.
- Maintains resident / patient privacy at all times.
- Protects the resident / patient's safety. If unable to remove the danger, notes and reports to the supervisor anything that may cause the resident / patient harm or injury.
- Provides care to residents / patients with communicable diseases who require isolation or special precautions. In such cases, protective equipment is required and proper procedures must be followed.
- May perform as a CNA, Certified Nursing Assistant if there are no residents on a Nursing Rehabilitation Program
- Documents and verbally communicates daily regarding each resident who is on a nursing rehab program, noting any variance from the resident / patient's care plan.
- Reports off to the team leader when leaving the unit. This applies to assigned break periods, lunch and at the end of the shift.
- Is responsible for any duties, including meal time assistance and any other duties as related to certified nursing assistants, a required by the team leader, nursing supervisor, ADON or DON.
- Maintains recertification as a New York State Certified Nursing Assistant every 2 years, no later than the last day of the month in which the certification / recertification was received.
- Maintains resident rights.
- Maintains HIPAA privacy, security and confidentiality standards.
- Follows all established policies and procedures.
- Follows universal Precautions and Infection Control techniques.
- Maintains Corporate Compliance standards.
- Contributes to facility Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Follows safety procedures by keeping areas free of hazardous conditions.
- Economical and careful with supplies and equipment.
- Attends all required in-services.
- Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality.
- Comes to work in neat, clean attire and consistently presents an appropriate professional appearance.
- Prepares any other necessary duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements :
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification.Compassionate and patient-focused with strong communication skills.Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care (preferred but not required).Demonstrates excellent customer service by building effective relationships and communicating with other team members and interdisciplinary teamsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsBenefits :
