Powell 4 is a 19 bed Medical Neurology and Epilepsy Monitoring unit specializing in Stroke, Seizure disorders, and other neurology disorders. We are Primary Stroke Center Certified and have one of Central Iowa's only Epilepsy monitoring units. Our dedicated team is committed to a multidisciplinary approach to patient centered care involving achieving best patient outcomes and safe discharge plans. All newly licensed RNs or RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience and who are interested in this department or any other Acute RN role within UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, are encouraged and required to participate in the RN Residency program.
