About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum 3 years Critical Care experience preferred, will consider strong candidates with less than 3 years.

License : Virginia or Compact License required.

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.

Must-Have : Strong neuro experience required (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke), Vents, IV drip titration, Telemetry monitoring, Conscious Sedation, Dysrhythmia and emergency management.

Description :

Chesapeake is located in Coastal Virginia, just minutes away from beautiful waterfront areas.

Chesapeake offers trails for all levels of hikers and over 20 waterways to explore.

Candidates must have strong neuro experience and cannot have any prior license or background issues.

Candidates must be willing to float to the Stepdown Unit and may be floated to other units to care for ICU patients.

Patient populations include neurosurgical and post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis and MODS, and heart failure.

Staffing ratios are 1 : 2-3.

Candidates must be EPIC proficient.

The facility cannot accommodate PAPR fit testing and any history of fit test issues will eliminate a candidate from consideration.

Additional required skills include arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care / management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.

Patients may include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Modules are required prior to start.

No pre-approved time off during the contract.

Candidates must be willing to take an EKG test prior to employment and must achieve a passing score.

Travel experience is preferred.
