Job Title : Trial Attorney
Job Overview :
A respected law firm based in Beverly Hills, CA, is seeking a skilled litigation attorney with a commitment to tenant advocacy and housing justice. This position involves representing tenants in habitability and housing-related cases, handling matters from initial pleadings to trial, and contributing to a collaborative and mission-driven legal team. The role combines litigation responsibilities with opportunities to shape strategy in housing law, while offering hybrid flexibility and a comprehensive benefits package.
Duties :
Represent individuals in tenant rights disputes, including habitability issues, wrongful evictions, and landlord harassment
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement proposals
Handle all stages of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
Appear in court for hearings, trials, and settlement conferences, particularly within the Los Angeles County jurisdiction
Provide strategic legal counseling to clients and evaluate case merits
Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure thorough case preparation
Maintain current knowledge of state and federal tenant protection laws
Requirements :
Minimum of 2 years' litigation experience, with preference for housing, civil rights, or public interest backgrounds
Strong litigation skills, including motion practice, depositions, and courtroom advocacy
Ability to manage a caseload independently and effectively
Demonstrated passion for social justice and housing equity
Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and traveling to Los Angeles courts for trials and mandatory proceedings
Education :
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications :
Active license and good standing with the California State Bar
Skills :
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Collaborative mindset and effective interpersonal communication
Multilingual skills, especially Spanish, are a plus
