Summary

As an emergency medical professional, you will provide immediate medical care to patients experiencing accidents, trauma, or medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests or strokes. You will deliver pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support until the patient is transferred to an accepting facility.

Key Responsibilities :

• Represent the ambulance service at community events and provide standby services when necessary.
• Document and chart comprehensive patient assessments and treatments.
• Care for patients in various crisis situations, providing medical, traumatic, and therapeutic services.
• Collaborate with a partner as a member of a two-person ambulance team responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced medical equipment for emergency care, such as external defibrillators and electrocardiograms.
• Assess injuries or illnesses and prioritize medical procedures based on patient needs.
• Respond swiftly to dispatcher instructions and navigate emergency vehicles to assigned locations safely.
• Administer medications as directed by a physician, via injection or intravenous methods.
• Communicate with medical staff at treatment facilities regarding patient care.
• Maintain strict hygiene protocols by cleaning and decontaminating ambulances after transporting patients with infectious diseases and reporting such occurrences as needed.

Physical Demands :

Must be able to lift over 50 lbs., push / pull up to 140 lbs., and carry 80 lbs. for short distances. The position involves frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
