Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Oncology Clinic and Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team!This position will support the Cleveland, Texas location. This position is Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call.

This position can be a level I, II or Senior based on relevant candidate experience.

Located near U.S. Highway 59 and SH 105, TxO - Cleveland offers easy access for patients across Liberty County and surrounding areas. This comprehensive cancer center provides chemotherapy, radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging, and pharmacy services, all close to home Cleveland is a welcoming, close-knit community known for its affordable living, family-friendly atmosphere, and easy access to nature, including the Sam Houston National Forest. What does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide for assessment and therapeutic management of patient / family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to) :

• Oncology Clinic RN :
• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.

Assesses health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.

Manages patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and records the information in the patient chart.

Acts as a resource to LPN / LVNs and medical assistants.

Assesses patient / family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material.

Administers all medications / blood products using correct medication / blood product, dosage / amount, route, time and technique.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience :

Education / Training

Level I

Level II

Level Senior

Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred
