Job Summary :

The Machinist / Machine Shop Technician will be responsible for performing precision machining operations to meet exacting specifications. This includes setting up and operating mills, lathes, grinders, and other machine tools to manufacture or modify parts to blueprint requirements. The role demands a high level of attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to maintain tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will have experience with both manual and CNC machinery and be capable of working independently or as part of a team to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities :

• Work to precise machine dimensions, maintaining close tolerances for concentricity, finish, and parallelism.
• Select appropriate speeds and feeds based on material type and finish requirements.
• Set up and fixture workpieces using shims, wedges, parallels, blocks, supports, chucks, and other devices to ensure accurate alignment and prevent tool or part damage.
• Operate precision measuring instruments to inspect in-process or finished parts and ensure adherence to blueprint specifications.
• Apply machining knowledge to improve manufacturing efficiency and accuracy.
• Lift and handle parts or equipment up to 40 pounds as needed.
• Work overtime and flexible shifts as required by production schedules.
